Roy and Mary McLarty began their journey in Scotland before relocating to Norfolk in 1980. Their lives have been a blend of professional achievements and strong family ties.
One notable project was the creation of a set of five training discs for entrepreneurs. These discs covered essential topics such as business idea development, business planning, marketing, finance, and management.
Roy also ventured into publishing, with two novels: Snake in the City and The Reluctant Plotter. Both books were well-received and achieved significant second printings.
Roy’s career included significant roles at the University of East Anglia (UEA) and Essex County Council. Mary managed R M Services, supporting redundant managers in Suffolk. Over the years, they lived in various locations, including Colchester and Wymondham, before returning to Norfolk in 1998.
The McLartys’ children, Carol and John, have carried forward their legacy. Carol became a Regional Manager at Sainsbury's and co-founded with husband David, RedMax, a company servicing Formula 1 racing events. John, with a career in land management, launched Ceres Property and Planning LLP in 2022.
Roy and Mary’s grandchildren are excelling in both academics and sports, with Scarlett, Rubi, Max, and Jessica making their mark in rowing, swimming, and other activities.
