The McLarty family has been visiting Tenerife for over 30 years. The island’s wonderful climate, lovely beaches, seaside villages, and mountainous scenery have made it a favourite destination. Initially, they stayed in appealing hotels, but eventually settled into a flat at Royal Gardens in Los Cristianos. Each February, they follow a routine that includes visiting the fishing village of La Caleta, where they enjoy a plate of whitebait and a fascinating walk, with a stop at the Del Duke cafeteria on the way home.
To extend their autumn, the McLartys have enjoyed Paphos on the isle of Cyprus for several years, preferring the Elysium Hotel just north of town. Two weeks in November offer lovely weather and a delightful escape.
For one early summer Nice became a preferred destination as they planned a change in routine. When visiting Monaco and the Formula 1 race track they met up with Son in law David and enjoyed lunch at the Yacht Club.
